Peterborough United: Jon Whitney Named Among Potential Managerial Candidates

Jon Whitney has been listed among the candidates for the newly vacant managerial position at Walsall's League One rivals Peterborough United.
Walsall manager Jon Whitney has been listed among the potential candidates for the newly vacant managerial position at the Saddlers' League One rivals Peterborough United, with the 47-year-old named alongside Steve Evans, Uwe Rosler, Mark Warburton and many others.

The Posh, who will be hosting the Saddlers on Tuesday evening, are managerless following the departure of Grant McCann - who left the London Road club following a poor spell of form which saw the side secure just one win from their last ten all-competition outings.

Peterborough are sat in tenth position in the tabel, six points from the Play-Off places, meaning there will likely be several high-profile candidates keen to take on the role.

Whitney can be backed on Sky Bet with odds of 20/1, while Steve Evans is currently favourite with odds of 2/1. Current Peterborough caretaker manager David Oldfield can be backed with odds of 4/1, alongside Uwe Rosler.
