Whitney Hopes to Add 'a Couple of Players' on Transfer Deadline Day

Jon Whitney is hoping to add a permanent signing ahead of Wednesday evening's Transfer Deadline.
As the January Transfer Window enters its final day, Walsall manager Jon Whitney has spoken to the local press and admitted that his squad is in need of improvement and reiterated his desire to add a permanent signing ahead of the deadline.

Jon, who was speaking on the back of his side's disappointing midweek defeat to League One promotion chasers Blackburn Rovers, said; "There is another day left and as always things happen at the last minute. We would like to bring in a couple of players if we can. We will do all we can to get some deals done. I’m still hopeful of one permanent signing but there are no guarantees. We will see what happens. There will be plenty of phone calls tomorrow but we are still very hopeful."
