Walsall Linked With Preston Defender Andy Boyle

Walsall have been linked with a move for Preston North End defender Andy Boyle.
Walsall have been linked with a move for Preston North End defender Andy Boyle, who has made just twelve appaearances for the Lilywhites since joining from Dundalk in January 2017.

Boyle, a 26-year-old Republic of Ireland international, is said to be attracting interest from clubs such as Wigan Athletic and Rotherham United but the Saddlers are believed to be leading the chase as they will be able to provide the Palmerstown-born centre back with more first-team football.

Andy, who also lists UCD and Shelbourne among his former clubs, is said to be keen to leave Deepdale for the remainder of the season as he seeks to improve his chances of breaking into the squad next season.

Neither Walsall or Preston have commented on the link, but the Saddlers are understood to be keen to add to their squad ahead of next week's League One clash with Blackburn Rovers.
