Walsall manager Jon Whitney has confirmed that on-loan West Bromwich Albion defender Shaun Donnellan will not be extending his stay with the club as his loan deal expires this week.

21-year-old, Branet-born Donnellan, who joined the Saddlers on a six-month loan deal in August, made eleven first-team appearances for the club, often having to settle for a place on the bench as Kory Roberts secured a spot in the starting line-up.

Jon, speaking via the club's official website - Saddlers.co.uk, said "We’ve let Shaun Donnellan go back. He wants to play games and I can’t guarantee him minutes, so he’s gone back. Kory has done really well and he’s really pushing James Wilson for that position, which is really healthy for me. We’ll sit down and have a chat about Dan Agyei and Zeli Ismail."
