Walsall Duo Start as Rushall Secure Three Valuable Points

Young Walsall midfielders Jordon Sangha and Kacy Milan Butterfield are currently on-loan to local Evo-Stik Premier League side, Rushall Olympic. You can find out how they got on in their latest outing, below.

Both Jordon and Milan were named in the starting XI as goals from Richard Brodie, Wes Atkinson and Mathis Fonovich were enough to give The Pics three valuable points in their local derby against Halesowen Town on Saturday afternoon.

Richard Brodie carried on where he left off against Buxton on Tuesday by converting his second penalty in three games after being fouled inside the area by Asa Charlton after thirty-eight minutes. The striker sent goalkeeper Danny Platt the wrong way to put Rushall into the lead.

The Yeltz replied instantly, with Danny Udoh sliding in to nip the ball past Jahquil Hill after a precise through ball found him 10 yards out with less than four minutes of the first half still to play.

The Pics were back in front three minutes later, when a pinpoint Danny Waldron cross from the right found Wes Atkinson who nodded home from close range, a great way to end the half as McDonald's side headed to the dressing room with a small lead.

Mathis Fonovich doubled the Pics’ lead with a sublime finish just after the hour mark. The Frenchman received the ball on the edge of the area before curling a sublime effort into the top corner to make it 3-1.

The Pics' defence stood strong for the rest of the game, with the Yeltz struggling to get a foothold as Rushall protected their lead manfully until full time.

Another full ninety-minutes for the on-loan Saddlers and encouraging result for the resurgent Pics, who have won their last three games in all competitions under recently-appointed manager Liam McDonald.
