Matty Fryatt Continues to Work Towards a Return to Football

Walsall boss Jon Whitney has offered a brief update on the status of striker Matty Fryatt, who continues to work with the club's backroom team in a bid to regain fitness and get his career back on track.
Walsall manager Jon Whitney has spoken to the press and offered a brief update on the status of striker Matty Fryatt, who has been training at the Saddlers' Essington Training Ground in a bid to regain fitness and get his career back on track.

Nuneaton-born Fryatt has spent the past few months working with the Saddlers' backroom team as he looks to recover from a long-standing achilles injury which has seen him miss over two-years of competitive football.

Jon, who was speaking via the Express & Star, praised the 31-year-old's work ethic, but admitted that there is still plenty to do if he is to earn a deal, he said; "Matty Fryatt is training really well. He is still with us and is still working hard. But there is no development on that one yet. He is still here and still working tirelessly with Marc Czuczman and Mark Bradley. It’s still early days, he has still got a lot of work to do. But he is still with us and still working hard."
