Morris - "It Was Great to Get Off the Mark"

Kieron Morris has admitted that his recent goalless spell, which came to an end against Doncaster Rovers last weekend, had begun to play on his mind.
Walsall winger Kieron Morris has spoken following Saturday's three-nil victory over Doncaster Rovers, which saw him score his first goal since April, and has admitted that his lack of goals was beginning to play on his mind.

23-year-old Morris, who was speaking via the Express & Star, Kieron said; "I had been waiting ages for that. It was great to get off the mark. I’ve been patient, I’ve been waiting but I’m still really glad to get that first one. I tried to stay composed. Amadou Bakayoko put me through and I didn’t rush it.

"That is what I had been doing at the start of the season. I had a lot of shots but I was rushing them and they were going off target. I knew that when I got the ball I had to stay composed, take it slowly and it ended up in the back of the net.

"My composure in front of goal is what I’m really trying to work on. It’s so important not to rush it which is what I was doing at the start of the season. I have got to be more composed, take my time and aim for the corners of the goal, instead of just striking and it going straight down the middle!"
