Whitney Hoping to Secure One More Signing Ahead of Transfer Deadline

Jon Whitney is keen to add another player to his squad ahead of the upcoming transfer deadline.
Walsall manager Jon Whitney has spoken to the local press and discussed his desire to add one more player to his squad ahead of the upcoming transfer deadline. But insisted that his patience in not signing the first available player is paying off.

Speaking via the Express & Star, Jon, who had recently completed a loan swoop for West Brom striker Tyler Roberts, said; "I’m still looking – we’d like one more before the window closes. We are still working really hard and the chairman has been fantastic at allowing me to bring players in. I hope with Tyler Roberts people can see the benefit of a bit of patience. I could have brought a striker in four or five weeks ago.

"But I wanted to wait for the ones I want. Sometimes patience pays off and I’m still being patient with one. We’ll have to see if it works. But we won’t bring in someone just for numbers. Anyone who comes in has to reinforce and give real support to this group of players."
