Joe Edwards Confirmed as Walsall's New Vice-Captain

Walsall have confirmed that versatile midfielder Joe Edwards will be the club's vice-captain for the 2017/18 campaign, replacing the exiled James O'Connor.
Walsall FC have confirmed that midfielder Joe Edwards is the club's new vice-captain, replacing James O'Connor, who is out-of-favour with manager Jon Whitney.

26-year-old Edwards, who joined the club from Colchester United in the summer of 2016 has amassed fifty first-team appearances, in a variety of positions.

O'Connor, who signed for the Saddlers in June 2014, has made one-hundred and twenty-two club appearances but has found himself on the fringes of the squad as Whitney seeks other options in defence.

Veteran midfielder Adam Chambers, who has made over two-hundred and eighty first-team appearances, will continue as Captain.
