Walsall vice-captain Joe Edwards has been named in the Football League Paper's League One 'Team of the Day' following his second-half strike which started the Saddlers on the path to three points against Oldham Athletic on Saturday afternoon.
26-year-old Edwards, who has made over fifty first-team appearances since joining the club from Colchester United last summer, scored under ten minutes into the second-half, levelling the scores and helping his side to secure their first win of the season as they defeated the Latics at Banks's Stadium.
The Saddlers went on to secure the victory via Erhun Oztumer's 90th minute goal, easing some of the pressure on manager Jon Whitney, and gaining three much-needed points.
