Whitney Reveals Goalkeeper 'Discussions'

Jon Whitney has revealed that he is in talks with an as yet unnamed goalkeeper as he seeks to fill the void left by the departure of Neil Etheridge.
Walsall manager Jon Whitney has briefly spoken to the local press and confirmed that he is in negotiation with a goalkeeper as he seeks to replace Cardiff City bound Neil Etheridge.

Jon, who was speaking via the Express & Star, said; "We are still in discussions. We are still negotiation with a goalkeeper. But it’s not as advanced as the full-back and the centre-half."

The Saddlers have been linked with a loan move for Reading goalkeeper Jonathan Bond, who spent a portion of last season on-loan to Gillingham, with coach Neil Cutler believed to have recommended the stopper to his colleague.
