Cuvelier Keen to Put Injury Woes Behind Him as He Targets Successful 2017/18 Campaign

3:26 pm Monday, 12 June 2017
24-year-old Cuvelier, who made twenty-three appearances during the 2016/17 campaign, is keen to get a good pre-season under his belt as he targets more football in 2017/18.
Walsall midfielder Florent Cuvelier, who made a total of twenty-three first team appearances during an injury-hit 2016/17, has spoken to the local press and discussed his desire to get more games under his belt during the upcoming campaign.

Flo, who was speaking via the Express & Star, missed parts of last season with an ankle injury, ear infection and calf strain and has spoken of his determination to get more game time, especially after missing so much football over the past few years.

24-year-old Cuvelier insisted that despite the recent setbacks his confidence is high as he targets a successful campaign, he said; "I still had a couple of niggles but I played a lot more games than I did before and I’m sure this year I’ll play even more again.

"I had a good run in the team last season and that gave me a lot of confidence. It showed me that I can still be the player I was a couple of years ago, and even better because I’ve played more games and got more experience.

"Physically I’m feeling good. I’ve followed a very strict diet and I’ve felt the benefit from it. I feel really healthy in my body and I’ve followed the programme the gaffer asked us to do.

"Physically I feel good and I’m hoping to get a good pre-season under my belt and then a successful season."
