Following an online poll, Walsall's on-loan Southampton defender Jason McCarthy has been named the PFA Fans’ Player of the Month for January.
Jason has been in superb form since joining the club over the summer, scoring five goals including three in four appearances during the month of January.
McCarthy, who spent the whole of last season on loan to Wycombe Wanderers, has made thirty-six appearances for the Saddlers so far this season, and has been instrumental in the recent spell of form which has seen the Boys from the Banks's rise to 11th in the League One table.
Jason, who picked up 35% of the vote, was nominated alongside Chuks Aneke (Milton Keynes Dons), Cian Bolger (Fleetwood Town), James Vaughan (Bury), Josh Morris (Scunthorpe United) and Mark Marshall (Bradford City).
