Walsall Football Club have confirmed that the loan 21-year-old Southampton defender Jason McCarthy has been extended until the end of the season, following a successful six-month spell with the club.
Southampton born McCarthy is a product of the Saints' Academy system and has made one first-team appearance for the St Mary's Stadium club since becoming a professional in 2014.
Jason, who spent the majority of last season on loan with League Two side Wycombe Wanderers making over thirty first-team appearances whilst also picking up the side's Supporters’ Player of the Year award, has made thirty appearances for the Saddlers since arriving at the end of July, and will no-doubt be keen to add to his tally heading into 2017.
