As the Saddlers enjoy an extended break between fixtures, summer signing Joe Edwards, who has played at right-back, central midfield and out wide since he arrived on a free transfer from Colchester United, has has spoken to club journalists and insisted that he is happy to be known as the club's ‘Mr Versatile’.

Speaking via Saddlers.co.uk, Joe said; "I just enjoy playing and I’ve always said that as long as I’m out on the pitch and playing games, then I’m happy. To be able to play in different positions has always helped me.

"People have always said that I need to nail down one position, but my comeback is that if I’ve got one position and I don’t get picked, I won’t be in the team. The gaffer said some nice things about me recently, saying I can play in different positions and I’ll always do a job for him and that’s what I try to give.

"I’ll always give 100%, do as I’m told and do the job I need to do. I like working hard and running about. My versatility has always helped me playing wise, but as long as I’m helping the team and doing my job then I’ll be happy."
