Walsall Football Club have confirmed that young midfielder Reece Flanagan, who is currently recovering from a long-term knee injury, has penned a one-year contract extension, which will see him remain at the cub until at least the summer of 2018.

News, released via Saddlers.co.uk, confirms; Walsall Football Club are delighted to announce that talented midfielder, Reece Flanagan, has signed a new deal with the club until the summer of 2018.

The 22-year old has made 35 appearances for the Saddlers since making his debut against Leyton Orient in August 2014.

His last outing came in a 2-1 away victory over Gillingham back in April but days later he ruptured his anterior cruciate knee ligament in training. Despite having to endure a lengthy spell on the sidelines, Flanagan has impressed the club’s medical staff with his attitude and work ethic.
