Following Boxing Day's Sky Bet League One clash between Walsall and Port Vale, which saw on-loan Scunthorpe United defender Scott Laird secure the win for his side with a goal mid-way through the first-half, the Valiants have confirmed the departure of manager Bruno Ribeiro.

In a statement, released via Twitter, Port Vale confirm; "Port Vale Chairman Norman Smurthwaite, has today accepted the resignation of Manager, Bruno Ribeiro, following the 1-0 defeat to Walsall. The club can confirm that Assistant Manager Michael Brown will be in charge of first team duties until further notice."
