Walsall legend Dean Keates, who made over two-hundred league appearances for the Saddlers, has today been named as the new manager of Vanarama National League side Wrexham.

Dean, who has left local side Rushall Olympic to take up the position, made over one-hundred and fifty appearances over five years with the Dragons and has penned an 18-month contract as he makes his first steps in to football management.

Wrexham Football Club is delighted today to announce Dean Keates as the new Wrexham AFC manager. Dean has agreed an 18-month contract with the Club, taking us through until the end of the 2017/18 season.

We would like to wish Dean all the best as he enters a new chapter in his career.
