Walsall manager Jon Whitney has spoken to the local press ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet League One clash with Bury, and has offered a brief transfer update as he continues to burn the midnight oil in search of a new defensive option.
Speaking via the Express & Star, Jon said; "I have been making a lot of phone calls, which all managers are doing at this stage of the season. It is the crazy time now, when agents are phoning late into the night. I just have to make sure the player I bring in is right for the group, along with being someone who can strengthen us defensively."
