On Sunday afternoon several former Saddlers and local boxers travelled to Red Star AFC's Middlemore Lane ground and faced off in a match in aid of Birmingham Children's Hospital and the British Heart Foundation.

The match, which saw the likes of James Chambers, Sean Geddes and Mick Evans take to the field, was a romp for the footballers as they defeated their opponents by eight-goals-to-nil as Peter Till Jnr (2), Sean Geddes (2) and Harry Harris (4) all slotted home to give their side a comfortable win.

The event, which was inspired by local youngster Jake Heywood-Wakeman and organised by former British Lightweight Champion Martin Gethin, his wife Sherilyn, and boxing brothers Steven and Darren, along with support from the Walsall Football Supporters' Trust raised over £1000 which will be split between both charities, a great result all-round.
