Several former Walsall players will be in action on Sunday afternoon as they take on a team of Boxers in a charity match inspired by local youngster Jake Heywood-Wakeman, and in aid of Birmingham Children's Hospital and the British Heart Foundation.

The match, which will take place from 2:00pm on Sunday, 10th July at Red Star AFC's Middlemore Lane Ground in Aldridge (WS9 8DN), has been organised by former British Lightweight Champion Martin Gethin, his wife Sherilyn, and boxing brothers Steven and Darren, along with support from the Walsall Football Supporters' Trust and will see the likes of Darren Wrack, Andy Reece and former Saddlers youngster Sean Geddes, take on local boxers Dan Breeze and Luke Paddock along with Former English, Commonwealth, EBU & WBA International Champion Rendall Munroe.

12-year-old Jake has been through a tremendous amount during his short life, including being diagnosed with Shone's syndrome, which is a collection of heart defects on the left side of the heart, and having to go through several life-threatening surgeries to correct issues associated with such a rare congenital heart disease.

All proceeds from the day, which will also include several other events, including a raffle, bouncy castle, face painting and much more, will be donated to the above charities with entry costing just £2.
