Ahead of this morning's draw for the Group Stage of the 2016/17 EFL Trophy, the English Football League have confirmed the names of the sixteen Category 1 Academy teams who will be joining this season's controversial competition.

The teams are; Blackburn Rovers, Everton, Stoke City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Derby County, Leicester City, Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Chelsea, Reading, Swansea City, West Ham United, Brighton & Hove Albion, Norwich City, Southampton and West Bromwich Albion.
