Paul Downing Rejects Walsall's Contract Offer

Walsall Football Club have this afternoon confirmed that Vice-Captain Paul Downing has joined Milan Lalkovic, Romaine Sawyers and Jason Demetriou in declining the club's offer of a new contract.

Walsall Football Club have this afternoon confirmed that Vice-Captain Paul Downing has joined Milan Lalkovic, Romaine Sawyers and Jason Demetriou in declining the club's offer of a new contract.

24-year-old Taunton-born Downing came through the ranks at West Bromwich Albion and went on to sign pro terms in 2009, however he never made a first team appearance for the Baggies but did gain first-team experience during loan spells with, Hereford United, Rotherham United, Shrewsbury Town and Barnet.

Paul joined Walsall in 2012, and went on to make over 180 club appearances.
