The FAW Trust have confirmed that Walsall manager Jon Whitney has now finished his intensive eight-day coaching course which saw he, and several other candidates, work towards gaining their UEFA B Licence, which is an important step on the ladder towards the UEFA Pro License.

Jon was joined in South Wales by the likes of Ryan Shawcross (Stoke City), Peter Crouch (Stoke City), Mido (Ex-Tottenham Hotspur & Middlesbrough) and Ian Walker (Ex-Tottenham Hotspur & Leicester City). along with Danny Collins (Rotherham United), Andy Rose (Coventry City) and former Saddler Andy Bishop, who is currently the manager of Southport.

"The likes of Goytre United manager Andy Hill learned alongside stars of the game Peter Crouch, Mido and Titus Bramble during our eight-day intensive coaching course for the UEFA B Licence.

"The committed future coaches spent eight full days, working into the night during our course at Dragon Park and learned lots from each other as well as bonding as a team. Now they are all hoping to continue their coaching careers once the season gets underway."

Whitney, who was named as permanent First-Team Manager last week, is set to take part in a press conference next week as he and his team work towards the opening game of the 2016/17 Sky Bet League One campaign, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 6th August.
