Walsall Football Club have today confirmed that winger Anthony Forde has rejected the club's offer of a new two-year contract and has agreed terms with Sky Bet Championship side Rotherham United.

In a statement, released via Saddlers.co.uk, the club confirm; Walsall FC can today confirm that a compensation fee has been agreed with Rotherham United for the transfer of winger Anthony Forde.

He was offered a new two-year deal at the end of the campaign, and during contract negotiations, the terms were improved significantly. However, the player expressed a desire to play Championship football and has decided to leave the club.

We wish Anthony all the best for the future and thank him for his efforts during his time at the Banks’s Stadium.

22-year-old Ballingarry-born Forde, who has signed a three-year-deal with the Millers, joined Walsall from local-rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer of 2014 and went on to make almost one-hundred first-team appearances.
