Walsall's Interim Head Coach Jon Whitney has spoken to the local press, and discussed his desire to remain at the club, revealing that he hopes to have his future will be determined over the next few days.

Speaking via Express & Star, Jon said; “My future will be decided in the next few days. I am keen to carry on if it is right for me and right for the club but I am not going to make a decision yet – I am going to keep my options open and see what happens.

“The whole experience has been fantastic and I have learnt an incredible amount. It’s been a steep learning curve but it’s one that I have enjoyed.

“Whether I carry on as a manager or as a performance coach – that is what I need to sit down over the next few days and look at. But I am proud at what I have achieved this season and believe being a head coach is well within my capabilities.”
