Walsall supporter Vinnie Tomes is organising a minute's applause in tribute to Barnsley fan Jake Storey who was tragically killed in a road accident.

Vinnie Tomes, who lives in West Melton but supports the Saddlers through family ties, worked with 21-year-old Jake at Capita.

In tribute to his pal, Vinnie has spread the word amongst fans of both sides to hold a minute's applause for Jake in the 21st minute of the play-off match this Saturday.

Vinnie, speaking to WeAreBarnsley.com, said: "I'm a local Walsall supporter and I knew Jake from work. He was a lovely lad and just wanted to do something to honour him. I've got the support from the travelling Walsall fans who are more than happy to join in the applause.

"I just want as many people to join in as possible as his mum and sister have tickets for the game. They used to take him to games so I felt more determined to do it for them. I asked my wife to get in touch with a few of our friends from football and they were more than happy to join in."
