Port Vale Issue Statement Ahead of Sunday's Game

Ahead of Sunday afternoon's Sky Bet League 1 clash between Port Vale and Walsall, the Valiants have issued a statement asking Saddlers supporters to refrain from entering the field of play at any time during the match.

The Vale secretary Bill Lodey, speaking via Port-Vale.co.uk, said: “What we want to do is allow both sets of supporters to enjoy the end of the season. Our plans are that after the game the Walsall team and management will stay out to thank their supporters for their ongoing support throughout the year.

“We would ask the Port Vale supporters to give them the opportunity to do that and then themselves wait for Rob Page and the lads to come out. But we can only do that if everybody stays off the pitch and behind the barriers so we can do it safely.

“We want everyone to enjoy the end of the season, go away and have their summer and look forward to August.”
