On Saturday morning, Walsall's Under 18s travelled North and took on Bury Under 18s in the latest Football League Youth Alliance (North West) fixture of the season.

Ahead of today's match, Neil Woods' Saddlers most recent match took place last weekend and saw them defeat Port Vale by two-goals-to-nil, as a Nathan Owen free kick along with a Lezion Cela strike proved enough secure three crucial points away from home.

Bury's most recent Alliance match also took place last weekend and saw them held to a scoreless draw by twelfth placed Rochdale.

Walsall were defeated in today's match as the Shakers won by three-goals-to-two, moving themselves four points clear of the young Saddlers and keeping their hopes of winning the Alliance very much alive.
