Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis has spoken to his club's official website ahead of Saturday afternoon's Sky Bet League 1 clash between the Railwaymen and the Saddlers, and has discussed his belief that it would be great for the league if a club with modest resources like Walsall could maintain a promotion push.

Speaking via CreweAlex.net, Steve said; “Walsall have continued to do what they are very good at under Sean. He hasn’t changed too much and they have a very settled group. It is a close knit squad of players and they have not had to cope with too many injuries to key players. They have done very well this season.

“It would be remarkable if they and Burton can remain there because of the resources they have to other clubs at this level. They will be will looking to stay there and avoid the play-offs. There are plenty of games still to play and if they can achieve it then it would be great for the league.

“They play an attractive way and are entertaining to watch, so it should be a good game.“
