Walsall Head Coach Sean O'Driscoll has spoken to club journalists ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet League 1 clash with Crewe Alexandra, and has discussed defender Rico Henry, insisting that the youngster may be more suited to a more advanced role as he continues his football education.
Speaking via Saddlers.co.uk, Sean said; “Like most young players, he makes mistakes. If you’re further forward the mistakes are not so costly and playing in midfield, he can get his games in.
“He likes getting forward and is bright when he's on the ball. I’m not convinced he will end up being a left-back. But I've only had him for a short time.
"You can play young players in forward positions where a mistake is not so crucial. But you play a young defender or goalkeeper and every mistake seems to cost you.”
