Walsall Goalkeeper Neil Etheridge has spoken to the local press ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet League 1 clash with league leaders Burton Albion, and has insisted that despite Saturday afternoon's defeat to Wigan Athletic, there is a lot of time left.

Speaking via the Express & Star, Neil said; “There is a lot of time left – you just have to take each step as it comes. Burton is a vital game but it will not be the be-all and end-all if we win or lose. There is a long way to go, 14 games after Saturday and anything can happen.  You just have to look over the league.

"We just need to keep doing what we have done from the start of the season and only time will tell where we will be.

"This club is a fantastic place to be and has been since the start of the season. I think we have gone under the radar slightly and maybe that has been a good thing for us, even though we know we can handle the pressure of playing big games and coming out with great results.

“We are just going along with our job quietly at the moment, but it's a thrill for us and individuals and, as a team, to be in a title race. As a club, it's time we made our mark. I think everyone is looking forward to when the pressure really does mount up, because I think we will grasp it with both hands.”
