Walsall Captain Adam Chambers has spoken to club journalists ahead of today's Emirates FA Cup Third Round clash with Dean Smith's Brentford, and has revealed that he thinks the game will be a 'strange' encounter as many of the younger players will never have played against a former boss.
Speaking via Saddlers.co.uk, Adam said; “It’s going to be a strange game. For a lot of the young lads, they’ve only known the old management team, so it’ll be strange seeing them in the opposition dugout.
“But once the game starts we’ll be focused on performing and getting through to the next round, it goes to the back of your mind.
“There’s a lot attached to the game but for us, it’s a game we’re looking to go and win. With the old management team being there, it’s added a little bit extra.
“We’ve had some big games this year – some top-of-the-table clashes and big cup games in front of big crowds – so hopefully we won’t be daunted by going to Brentford.
“They’re in good form in their league but hopefully the games we’ve played this season will give us the confidence to go there, perform and get a positive result.”
