On Saturday afternoon, just hours before Walsall's Sky Bet League 1 clash with Bury, Barclays Premier League side Manchester CIty invoked their recall clause in the loan contract of midfielder George Evans, ending his spell at the Banks's Stadium.
Following the news that he had been made unavailable for the match at Gigg Lane, George, who had travelled up to the North West, decided to join the Saddlers faithful in the away end and watch as the Reds went on to defeat the Shakers by three-goals-to-two, despite a second half comeback from the home side.
In the hours following the match George took to Twitter and thanked everyone at the club for the experience he'd had since joining in October, speaking via Twitter, George said; "Just want to say a massive thank you to everyone involved at Walsall FC, the players, the staff and the fans!
"It's been an unreal experience for me, one I'll never forget! I Want to wish the club all the best for the future!"
