Walsall winger Jason Demetriou has spoken to club journalists following Saturday afternoon's Sky Bet League 1 draw between the Saddlers and Blackpool, and has discussed his belief that the result was two points lost, rather than a point gained.

Speaking via Saddlers.co.uk, Jason said; “It was definitely two points dropped. We were gutted in the dressing room afterwards. It felt like a defeat because we dominated so much of the game.

“The gaffer said he was really impressed with our second-half performance so to come away with just a point was harsh. But that’s football."

Jason went on to discuss Tuesday evening's trip to Fleetwood Town, and insisted that the squad is excited to get back to winning ways, he said; “We’re all excited to put it right and get back to the top of the league. They’re a high-pressing team and their manager has them working hard.

“But we won’t worry too much about what they’re doing, we’ll get back on to what we’re doing and the most important thing is to get three points. We want promotion and we’ll deserve it if we continue how we’re going.“
