According to the latest Football League Power Rankings stats, currently managerless Walsall Football Club are statistically the ninth best side in English Football.

The statistics put the Saddlers, who sit third in Sky Bet League 1, one place below Barclays Premier League giants Manchester City, and just above Plymouth Argyle.

Walsall, who are currently managed by a combination of John Ward, Jon Whitney and Neil Cutler, have collected twenty-one points away from home so far this season, the joint best record in England, with only Oxford United matching them.

Walsall have hit 122 shots on target this season, which is the second most in England this season, just behind Peterborough United, who have tested the goal a remarkable 130 times.

The Saddlers have opened the scoring in 70% of their league games so far this season, the highest percentage in England during the current campaign.

Walsall average 54.8% possession in league games this season, which is the highest percentage in Sky Bet League 1 and ninth highest in England as a whole.

However the stats are not all good for Walsall, the Reds have gone six league games without keeping a clean sheet, only Colchester United and Barnsley have worse active records in Sky Bet League 1.
