Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to club journalists following Saturday afternoon's Sky Bet League 1 draw with Sheffield United, and has discussed his disappointment at only taking a point from a game that he feels his side deserved to have won.

Speaking via Saddlers.co.uk, Dean said; “I’m disappointed we didn’t get all three points. I don’t think it would have been an injustice had we gone it at half-time three goals up. Our performance in the first half was excellent and we made a good team look average.

“When we play like that, you can’t tell whether teams are good teams or not. We moved the ball well, had great movement, hit the woodwork a couple of times and their keeper has made some really good saves.

“When we got our noses in front in the second half, I thought we were going to go on and win the game. They probably had their best spell after we scored but we were disappointed to only get a point.”
