Walsall winger Kieron Morris has spoken to club journalists following Saturday afternoon's comeback victory over then league-leaders Gillingham, and has discussed his delight at getting the goal that started the Saddlers on the comeback trail.

Speaking via Saddlers.co.uk, Kieron said; “It was a great game. Going 2-0 down was disappointing but we dug in and I managed to get a goal back. I had the ball out wide, cut inside and pulled the trigger – I was delighted it went in.

“Being second in the league (before the match), we knew it was an important game to win and everyone played really well. It’s great to be top of the league and we need to keep putting in these performances.

“I’ve been a bit frustrated not to be playing. I was out of the team for four games after starting against Wigan but I kept my head up. I was hoping that once I got my chance I’d take it and thankfully I did.

“The gaffer sees me as a forward-minded player and he knows that I can bring something to the match when I come on off the bench or start games. I think I’ve made an impact coming on.”
