According to the latest 'Football League Power Rankings' statistics, Dean Smith's Walsall side has the best defence in England, averaging just 0.50 goals conceded per league game.
According to the latest 'Football League Power Rankings' statistics, Dean Smith's Walsall side has the best defence in England, averaging just 0.50 goals conceded per league game.

Stats show that the Saddlers lead several Sky Bet Championship sides in the rankings, as Middlesbrough, Hull City, Reading and Derby County all sit in joint second place (.70), and Sky Bet League 2 outfit Wycombe Wanderers are in sixth place (0.73).

Burton Albion, Mansfield Town, Plymouth Argyle and Oxford United round off the top ten, all conceding an average of 0.75 goals per league game.
