Earlier today, Walsall Football Club confirmed that young striker Jordan Murphy had joined Vanarama National League side Kidderminster Harriers on a one month loan deal.

Before he joined up with the Harriers, Jordan spoke to Saddlers' Media Officer Dale Moon, and discussed his delight at being able to gain more much needed first-team football.

Speaking via Saddlers.co.uk, Jordan said; “The chance to go out to a National League side was one that I couldn’t turn down. I’ve wanted to make the step up ever since I returned from Worcester in the Conference North last year.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for me and I’m glad it’s all been sorted. I’ve got some amazing memories from my time at Worcester. The FA cup run and playing at the Ricoh Arena was amazing and I want more of the same at Kidderminster.

“I know I’ll have to earn my place in the team and prove to the manager I deserve a starting spot first and foremost.

“I think the biggest challenge for youngsters going out on loan is to adapt. The gulf between League 2 and non-league isn’t as big as many people think so you have to get up to speed quickly.

“It prepared me well for that last season so I feel even more ready to go out and make an impact. It is physical but there are some good technical players as well. It’s not far off what I am used to when I’m training with the lads at Walsall so I’m looking forward to it.

“When I used to play for Stourbridge’s youth team, we’d always come across Kidderminster and you knew they were a big club at that level. It’s not too far away from where I live so that helps as well.

“If I concentrate on doing well for Kidderminster then I’ll be performing well and hopefully catch the gaffer’s eye.”
