Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the local press following Saturday afternoon's Sky Bet League 1 clash with Bury, and has discussed his frustration as his side suffered their first loss of the 2015/16 league campaign.
Speaking to
Joseph Masi of the
Express & Star, Smith said; “It was frustrating - you don’t always get what you deserve in life and today we didn’t get what deserved.
“We didn’t start the game particularly well and they got their noses in front and that gave them something to hold on to. But that is as well as we have played this season. Some of the football we played – it was very difficult for them to get the ball back off of us.
“The difference was in the 18-yard box. Their keeper has made some good saves and our finishing could have been a bit better. But I have no complaints regarding my players. They gave everything it just wasn’t to be.”
