As his team prepares for its first full week of pre-season training, Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the local press, and insisted that he expects to make up-to three more key additions with his sights set on squad improvement.
Speaking to the
Express & Star, Smith said; “I always felt four or five but it’s looking likely it will be five. That could be James signing a new deal or it could be that I bring in another centre-back.
“I don’t really want to put a number on it because, even when I get players in, I’m continuing to assess the squad. We always want to continually evolve and get better.
“I think the two players we have added so far will improve us and hopefully the other ones that come in with improve us even further.”
