Former Manchester United reserves striker John Cofie is understood to be among the trialists at Walsall Football Club, as they continue to prepare for the 2015/16 Sky Bet League 1 campaign.

22-year-old, Ghana born Cofie began his career as an apprentice with both the Red Devils and Burnley, and went on to sign pro-terms with the Old Trafford club in 2010.

He failed to make a breakthrough with Manchester United, but did enjoy loan spells with Royal Antwerp, Sheffield United and Notts County before leaving United for Barnsley in 2013.

John made no first-team appearances for the Tykes and was released at the end of the 2013/14 campaign.

He joined Molde in the summer of 2014 but again failed to notch a single appearance before joining Crawley Town on a short-term deal in March 2015.

John is currently a free agent and understood to be among the Saddlers' raft of trialists.
