Reports suggest that former Huddersfield Town midfielder Oscar Gobern, who has been attracting the interest of Saddlers manager Dean Smith for the past few weeks, has travelled to Italy to join up with Queens Park Rangers as they prepare for life in the Sky Bet Championship following last season's relegation.

Earlier today, Walsall Football Club travelled to St George's Park to take on a Nike Academy side in their first of up to three 'behind closed doors' friendlies they have planned.

Following the game, which the Saddlers ran out comfortable winners, manager Dean Smith spoke to the club's official YouTube Channel and discussed his side's performance.
