26-year-old Deeney is regarded as one of the most consistent strikers in England after hitting over 20 goals for the last three consecutive seasons and he captained the club to a second place finish in the Sky Bet Championship as they sealed a return to the Premier League for 2015/16.
Walsall will be keeping tabs on the deal as they are understood to be due 20% of any future transfer deal.
