Walsall Football Club are set to take a share of a cash windfall as the Banks's Stadium appearance of Sir Elton John and his Band is estimated to have brought in around £1,000,000 to the region, with hotels, pubs and restaurants also benefiting from the event.

Last season's Johnstone's Paint Trophy run is said to have made the club around £100,000 in total income, this, along with decreased policing costs for 2014/15 will be welcome relief for a club that, although profit making, can not be considered to be 'cash rich'.

Earlier in the summer Chief-Executive Stefan Gamble insisted that first-team manager Dean Smith had an increased budget to work with, and along with the above financial boosts, will hopefully serve to further boost the gaffers options.
