Walsall manager Dean Smith has been presented with the League Manager's Association (LMA) Special Achievement Award at the annual LMA Awards, which took place at Old Billingsgate on Tuesday evening.

The award was presented to Smith by former Walsall midfielder Roberto Martinez during a glittering ceremony which also saw former Saddler Gareth Ainsworth collect the LMA's League 2 Manager of the Year Award after he guided his little fancied Wycombe Wanderers side to the Final of this season's League 2 Play Offs.

Bristol City's Steve Cotterill was named League 1 manager of the Year following his side's rise to the Championship and successful Johnstone's Paint Trophy run which saw them defeat the Saddlers at Wembley Stadium in March.

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe collected both the Championship Manager of the Year and overall Manager of the Year awards after he took his side to the Premier League following a competitive Sky Bet Championship season.
