The deal, which is due to be rubber-stamped by the FA board later today, is believed to be worth at least £10million a year and is currently set to begin with next season's competition.
There is no main sponsor for this season's competition, which is due to host it's final, between Arsenal and Aston Villa, at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, 30th May, and it is understood that the FA board have been working hard to secure a deal for the coming campaign as a way to ease the association's costs in-terms of prize money.
The deal with Emirates will eclipse the last name sponsorship that saw the tournament operated ‘in association with Budweiser', which was worth £9m annually, and will also allow for a further six subsidiary sponsors for the competition, with Budweiser, Nike and William Hill already signed up. The ambition is for the whole FA Cup sponsorship portfolio to be worth £20million by 2018/19.
