Earlier today, Walsall Football Club's Reserves side played host to Wrexham Reserves in the latest Final Third Development League (West) fixture of the season.

The Saddlers arrived at the game on the back of a seven-nil league victory over Morecambe Reserves, and a Walsall Senior Cup semi-final victory over Brocton, whilst the Dragons were defeated 5-1 by Shrewsbury Town's second-string last time out.

The Saddlers began the game on-top and continued to dominate proceedings, including opening the scoring after five minutes and making it five-nil by the twenty-five minute mark. This level of control continued throughout the game with the visitors simply unable to counter the Saddlers strong attack.

Striker Amadou Bakayoko scored four goals, and doubled his reserves tally for the season in the process, former Stourbridge front-man Jordan Murphy collected a brace, which takes him up to five for the campaign, whilst midfielder's Reece Flanagan and Jake Heath, who is currently enjoying an extended loan spell with Rushall Olympic, also got their names on the score-sheet.

Next up for the Reserves is Chasetown in the Final of the 2014/15 Walsall Senior Cup, which takes place at Banks's Stadium on Monday, 27th April, with the Saddlers looking to win the cup for the first time in their history.

Walsall's final league game of the season is at home to Tranmere Rovers Reserves, with the date yet to be confirmed.
