Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the press ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet League 1 clash with Fleetwood Town, and has insisted; "if we maintain the high standards that we have set ourselves, we will give ourselves every chance of being successful."

Speaking to Saddlers.co.uk, Smith said; "We're looking forward to the run-in. I was pleased with our performance levels over the Easter weekend, the only thing missing was goals.

"If we continue to create chances, then the goals will follow. We know that Fleetwood will provide tough opposition, but we go into the game in a positive frame of mind.

"We're relishing these final games and there is plenty for us to be positive about as a club. Yes, we've had a bad run of results, but performance-wise our last three home games have been superb and defensively we have looked solid.

"Every game is an opportunity and we look forward to welcoming a Fleetwood Town side who are pushing for the play-offs. They will come here with their tails up, but we played extremely well at their place to become the first team to beat them on their own patch and they will be well aware of that.

"They are a club who have risen up the Leagues in recent years and Graham Alexander has assembled a strong squad, but if we maintain the high standards that we have set ourselves, we will give ourselves every chance of being successful."
